Winter Doubles is in full swing. Points races are hot and highly contested. We have had record numbers of players out and record ace pools. Valley Springs ace pool is over $315 I hear. If you didn’t know Winter Doubles season will end March 26 at Valley and March 31 at Cornwallis. If you want to be a part of this record breaking season come on out before it’s in the books.
If you haven’t noticed the Sun is staying out later and later and soon we’ll be Spring’ing’ our clocks forward. Keep a eye and ear open for pre-season Doubles. Usually 5:30 start on Tuesday after the time change (sometimes Valley on Thursday).
Also BCDC are having elections. Nominations are being accepted till the end of March and the election runs from April – May 16. For more info talk to Jack, Mike or Lindsey.
Don’t forget Mike is starting back up Third Saturday Workdays. Meet him out at Cornwallis after Doubles. During the Summer season meet him out there at 10am.
If you see Ed out at Valley or the hardware store thank him for the great design of the steps on Hole 2. And tell him thanks for keeping that course so beautiful! Thanks Ed!
Thanks also to all of the players who help BCDC be so great! Remember once your BCDC, your BCDC for life.

The largest turn out for a Cornwallis doubles event, that I have been a part of, and the largest Ace pool ($547) is in the books. Ed (It couldn’t have happened to a better guy) K. aced hole Number 7. Of course he shared with his partner Lindsey He also gave $50 back to the club to get the new ace pool started again. So when you hit next week you wont feel to bad.
In other news Erik W and Allen M won the round in a playoff taking home $76. Chad G and John S took home second place money. Thanks to everyone for their help and patience. Remember only you can prevent forest fires, And knowing is half the battle.
No Doubles this Saturday. The ace pool is safe till the second Saturday of January. Find all of your answers to your monthly questions under the heading ‘Monthlies’… Need I say more?
A time for cracking discs and big ace pools. Cornwallis acepool has been building since Aug. and it has grown to $311! Come on out this Saturday before 10am and sign up for a chance to take home the cash. Bring your best craps roller if you want to play the reds or you might all be singin’ the blues. Points sheet will be at dubs on Saturday if you want to know where you stand.
Aside from your very own BCDC,
2014 Forest Hills Open is happy to have “Greener Grass Real Estate and Kirsch Lending” on board as a supporting sponsor! Boom! Support your local disc golf sponsors y’all!
Sam’s Bottle Shop at the intersection of Hwy 54/751 (the recent expansion of the infamous Sam’s Quick Shop in between Duke’s East and West Campus), is donating a cold beverage and koozie to EVERY participant at this years FHO. Your Koozie will be your ticket to getting your beverage post round.
Thai Cafe has donated four $25 gift certificates (which will be awarded at CTP prizes). Downright the best Thai food in the area and only a short drive south from Forest Hills in the Rockwood Center- a great lunch option!
Hunky Dory on 9th street is also on board providing a 50% off coupon for a disc. In addition to discs, they are a great supply of vinyl, record players, and more glass pieces than you can shake a stick at.
Tributary Landscape and Design is back on board contributing cash (check them out for fantastic landscape ideas for walls, walkways, planting designs or full yardscape renovations). Talk to Jonah Roberts who is playing again this year about your necessary work.
We have also have TCP, Ivey Plumbing, and Carolina Countertops on board as tee sponsors. Stay tuned for ever more FHO local sponsors…
